Nexis Uni
Nexis Uni is an online service providing a wealth of information from over 15,000 news, legal and business sources. Comprehensive coverage of news and current events, government, business, medical, and legal topics, as well as general reference information is included. Formats found in Nexis Uni are: international and domestic newspapers, magazines and trade journals, broadcast transcripts (NPR, ABC News, CBS News, and CNN), company financial information, industry and market news, federal and state case law, law reviews, medical news and abstracts, and state and country profiles. Includes business information on over 80 million U.S. and international companies and 75 million executives. Non-English language news sources are available in Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Dutch. Campus news from some 400 college/university papers and over 50 wire services are also available.

Education Policy Institutes and Think Tanks

A policy institute or think tank conducts research and engages in advocacy around a particular issue, from a stated viewpoint. This is a selected list of policy institutes and think tanks that deal with education issues. There are many policy institutes that focus on sub-issues within education.

Annie E. Casey Foundation- KIDS COUNT
KIDS COUNT is a national and state-by-state project of the Casey Foundation to track the status of children in the United States.
Brookings Institution
Brookings experts have examined a number of issues including assessment and standardized testing, teacher quality, preschool and the connection between education and competitiveness.
CATO Institute
Cato's education research is founded on the principle that parents are best suited to make important decisions regarding the care and education of their children.
Center for American Progress
The Center for American Progress is a progressive think-tank dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through ideas and action.
Hoover Institution Koret Task Force on K–12 Education
The K–12 Education Task Force focuses on education policy as it relates to government provision and oversight versus private solutions (both within and outside the public school system) that stress choice, accountability, and transparency; that include systematic reform options such as vouchers, charter schools, and testing; and that weigh equity concerns against outcome objectives. Its collaborative efforts spawned a quarterly journal titled Education Next, one of the premier publications on public education research policy in the nation.
RAND Institute
Non-Profit corporation. Research includes K-12 assessment and accountability, school reform, teachers and teaching, higher education, military education and training, worker training, and substance-abuse prevention in schools.
