Reader's Advisory is just another way of saying "librarians matching people with books they like." As librarians, we love to do this.
While you may not think that an academic library, like the one here at Bethel College, would collect any fiction titles, WE DO! Of course, we don't have as large a fiction collection as a public library, but we do collect fiction that relates to our collection focus and supports the studies here at Bethel. We also have a fairly large collection of children's and young adult literature, along with a rotating book collection that features mysteries, fantasies, graphic novels and more.
We figure that you are going to want to read something other than your textbooks sometime, so why not come to the folks who are self-titled "book nerds," and get some advising?
The database on this page, NoveList Plus, is a fun way to learn about book series, read-alikes, genres, and more. It's a great starting place in your search for your next great read!
Here's a great place to start looking for new books to read: NoveList Plus. It can help you identify new books you might like by genre (like historical fiction) or age of reader or even "read-alikes" (if you like books by Tana French, for example, you might like books by Kate Atkinson.)
