BeLonGTo is an anonymous group for Bethel College students that identify as LGBTQIA+ or questioning. Joining and participating in this club is anonymous. Information about upcoming meetings will not be announced publicly in order to maintain confidentiality. The Committee on Lesbian and Gay History was founded in 1979 to promote the study of homosexuality in the past and present by facilitating communication among scholars in a variety of disciplines working on a variety of cultures. The name of the committee was changed to Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender History in January 2009. Since 1982, the Committee has been officially recognized as an affiliate of the American Historical Association and meets annually in conjunction with the AHA conference, where we sponsor sessions on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer history. One need not be a member of the AHA to join the Committee.

Founded in 1985, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender (GLBT) Historical Society is recognized internationally as a leader in the field of LGBTQ public history. Our operations are centered around two sites: our GLBT Historical Society Museum, located since 2011 in the heart of San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood; and our Dr. John P. De Cecco Archives and Research Center, open to researchers in the Mid-Market district.

ONE Archives Foundation, Inc., is an independent 501(c)(3) dedicated to telling the accurate and authentic stories of LGBTQ people, history and culture through public exhibitions, educational projects and trainings, and community outreach programs. Their exhibitions, school programs, and community outreach programs are free.

Equality Federation is the movement builder and strategic partner to state-based organizations advocating for LGBTQ people. From Equality Florida to Freedom Oklahoma to Basic Rights Oregon, we amplify the power of the state-based LGBTQ movement.

The Equity Project is an initiative to ensure that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth in juvenile delinquency courts are treated with dignity, respect, and fairness. The Equity Project examines issues of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression (SOGIE) that impact youth during the entire delinquency process, ranging from arrest through post-disposition.

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is the largest LGBT civil rights advocacy group and political lobbying organization in the United States.

Founded in 1973, Lambda Legal is the oldest and largest national legal organization whose mission is to achieve full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work. As a nonprofit organization, we do not charge our clients for legal representation or advocacy, and we receive no government funding. We depend on contributions from supporters around the country.

Founded in 2006, the Movement Advancement Project is an independent think tank that provides rigorous research, insight and analysis that help speed equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. MAP’s work is focused on three primary areas; policy and issue analysis, LGBT Movement Overviews and Effective Messaging.

Since 1977, NCLR has been at the forefront of advancing the civil and human rights of our full LGBTQ community and their families through impact litigation, public policy, and public education. Decades ago, NCLR led the way by establishing the first LGBTQ Immigration Project, Transgender Rights Project, Youth Project, Elder Law Project, and began working to end conversion therapy through what is now the Born Perfect campaign.

The National Center for Transgender Equality advocates to change policies and society to increase understanding and acceptance of transgender people. In the nation’s capital and throughout the country, NCTE works to replace disrespect, discrimination, and violence with empathy, opportunity, and justice.

PFLAG is committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education, and advocacy. PFLAG has 400 chapters and 200,000 supporters crossing multiple generations of American families in major urban centers, small cities, and rural areas in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Equality Kansas is a non-profit organization whose mission is to end discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. They work towards their mission through education, public policy advocacy, and political action.

The mission of Flint Hills Human Rights Project is to use the political process and advocacy to ensure and promote dignity, safety, equality for and the civil and human rights of LGBTTIQ individuals in Clay, Geary, Marshall, Morris, western Pottawatomie, Riley, western Wabaunsee and Washington counties of Kansas.

GLSEN Kansas is a chapter of GLSEN, a national organization fighting for every student’s right to a safe, supportive education. GLSEN Kansas is a grassroots initiative, working locally in our community to ensure safe schools for all students, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.

What is K-STEP? It is a group of transgender people, their families, all supporters, and interested professionals (psychotherapy, human resources, education, the faith community) who are dedicated to ending discrimination against transgender people in Kansas, and their families, through education.

PAKC is in the first steps in rebuilding a Wichita PFLAG Chapter, a place where LGBT people, their parents, families and friends gather to listen and talk about coming out and being come out to. We are still reorganizing and are not holding regular support meetings...yet. But we do have regular parent support in the Family Connections group at The Center of Wichita. You are free to just listen in, but in this warm and supportive atmosphere, many newcomers find that they are able to put troubling thoughts and fears into words for the first time and receive reassurance, guidance and facts. All conversations are considered confidential and are not discussed beyond the room. Family Connections is open to everyone from any denomination, religion, non-religion or ethnicity, all are welcome. The Center of Wichita is a place to call home for Wichita’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Allied (LGBTQA) community and a safe space for youth.The Center of Wichita’s current focus is securing resources the Our Wall of Literature educational opportunities for Wichita’s LGBTQA youth. It provides a central meeting place for people and organizations interested in LGBTQA awareness, it is currently building an LGBTQA library, and it has literature and contact information for other LGBTQA organizations throughout the city and state.
